Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Scanplyance (“Scanplyance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Free-scan information — the website URL you submit, the email address you optionally provide, and the IP address of the request (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention).
- Scan and report data — the public web pages we scan on your behalf and the accessibility findings we generate from them.
- Payment information — processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive limited billing details (such as plan, status, and the last digits/brand of a card) but do not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications — messages you send us (for example, via the contact form) and, where applicable, email delivery and engagement events (such as opens and clicks) from our email provider.
- Usage and device data — basic analytics about how the Service is used, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service, including running scans and generating reports and badges.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and provide customer support.
- To communicate with you about your account, reports, and service updates, and — where permitted — relevant informational messages.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under appropriate confidentiality obligations, including:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Mailgun — transactional and outreach email delivery and tracking.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Scanplyance, our users, or the public.
4. Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in, and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may affect your ability to log in.
5. Data retention
We retain account, scan, and report data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. Free-scan logs and rate-limiting data are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You may access or update your account information by contacting us, and you may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and operational limits. You can opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws; contact us to exercise them.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for organizations and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
